  18.      When I first responded to a question about "brittle-bone" disease some
  19. months ago, I had little idea of the amount of interest the subject would have
  20. for my readers.  It was obvious to me that more information was needed about
  21. this inherited disorder, correctly named Osteogenesis Imperfecta, which causes
  22. bones to fracture easily and early in life.  Some babies are born with
  23. fractures or they may begin to occur in infancy and early childhood.  A wealth
  24. of information about caring for these children, as well as a newsletter and a
  25. literature list, is obtainable free of charge, for a stamped self addressed
